Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced today that Nester Marin-Romaldo, 35, of Elizabeth is wanted for a hit-and-run that resulted in serious injuries to two female pedestrians as they were leaving a local establishment.
According to police, It is alleged that on Sunday, Jan. 6, at approximately 1:58 am, two women were struck by a white SUV in the area of Verona Avenue and Broadway in the city of Newark.
Both sustained life-threatening injuries and remain hospitalized according to police.
Police charged Marin-Romaldo with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of leaving the scene of an accident in which two women – ages 48 and 33 – both sustained serious bodily injuries. Romaldo’s last known address was Elizabeth.
Police say Romaldo is originally from Mexico.
