Clark police have identified the man accused of leading them on a chase that came to an end in Linden following a serious crash.
According to authorities, Earl Downey, 35, of East Orange, was arrested by Linden police on January 9th shortly before 5 p.m. after a chase that initiated in Clark.
Officials say Downey, who was driving on a suspended license, attempted to elude police but was ultimately taken into custody in the area of West St. Georges Avenue and Dewitt Street.
Police arrested Downey and charged him with resisting an arrest, eluding and driving with a suspended license. He was subsequently transported to the Union County Jail.
Officials say two people were taken to University Hospital in Newark with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
