Melissa Spagnola doesn’t buy lottery tickets for herself, only as gifts for clients and other people.
The only time she plays the lottery is when her parents, who are long-time lottery players, buy tickets for the family. They have been doing this for years – no special occasion needed. Her parents don’t even buy other gifts anymore – just lottery tickets.
This time, Melissa’s father purchased lottery tickets and gave a 100X The Bucks lottery ticket to her, which she scratched off while she was with the family. Melissa didn’t know how to play that game, but thought she might have won; so, she showed it to her parents and asked “Is it real?” One look and they confirmed that it was, in fact, really a winning ticket for $2,000,000!
Everyone was in shock and Melissa said the experience felt surreal. Her sister was in tears. Melissa plans on sharing the money with her family and taking them all on a vacation to the Bahamas. She said the rest will help with financial stability.
The lucky retailer that sold the ticket was Wawa #345, 210 Georgetown Wrightstown Rd., Wrightstown in Burlington County.
