Fire officials in Irvington are investgiating a fire that ignited inside a vacant structure then extended two others in the township on Thursday night.
According to preliminary reports, firefighters rushed to the 400 block of Nye Avenue after they received reports of a fire that erupted inside a two-story house just before10:30 a.m.
Crews arrived at the scene and requested mutual assistance after finding fire tearing through one of the vacant building then flames began to extend next door -another vacant structure-.
Orange and Newark fire departments were some of the crews on the scene assisting Irvington to bring the blaze under control in under an hour.
A search of all three structures indicated no trapped or injured occupants.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
