Firefighters officials in Irvington are looking into a fire that killed one person inside a house in the Township on Sunday morning.
Heavy fire broke out inside a two and a half story wood-framed house located in the single-digit block of Grove Terrace at approximately 2:15 a.m.
Crews arrived at the scene and found flames shooting from the second floor of the structure according to reports.
Firefighters notified the Essex County Prosecutor's Office when they made entry into the house and found the lifeless body of an unidentified person according to reports.
Firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control in under an hour with the cause under investigation.
The victim has not been identified and the official cause of death remains under investigation.
