Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a mini-market located in the 700 block of Lyons Ave. where two employees were taken to the hospital after being shot.
Police rushed to the scene after receiving reports of shots fired at the Kings Farm Food Store around 8:45 p.m.
The suspect reportedly held up the establishment, taking money from the register. Just before the suspect exited the store, gunfire rang out, reportedly striking both employees in their abdomens. EMS rushed the victims to University Hospital in Newark suffering non-life threatening injuries.
There is no immediate description of a suspect.
