Police are on the the scene of the shooting with one person dead at this time at a location in Jersey City.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to the area of Bidwell Avenue and Martin Luther King at approximately 3:45 to investigate reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim suffering gunshot wounds inside a bodega at that location.
The victim was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police taped off the area as detectives from the Hudson County Prosecutor’s office began to canvas the scene for evidence to support a motive for the shooting.
There were no arrests reported.
