Police in Jersey City are investigating a shooting that had the victim suffering gunshot wounds at a location in the city Friday evening.
According to police, the incident unfolded in the vicinity of Monticello and Belmont avenues just before 9 p.m. where gunfire rang out sending police to the scene to investigate.
Units arrived at the scene and found a male suffering two gunshot wounds to the legs at that location.
The victim was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where doctors treated non-life threatening injuries.
Police taped off the area for the active and ongoing investigation.
There were no arrests reported.
