There were injuries reported for the victim of a shooting that occurred at a location in Newark's Ironbound section during the overnight hours.
The Newark East ward shooting happened near the Vivo Lounge located at Ferry and Jackson streets where multiple rounds of gunfire erupted in the area sending police to the scene where they arrived to found the unidentified person suffering a gunshot wound to the arm.
Police closed off a portion of the restaurant district as they searched for the suspect while EMS rushed the victim to University Hospital where doctors treated non-life threatening injuries.
Officers canvassing the scene found multiple shell casings, but during their search, there were no other victims found.
Police say they also found a vehicle struck by bullets at that location.
The motive for the shooting is under investigation while the suspect remains at-large.
