UPDATE: Authorities ID Victims of Fatal Double Shooting in Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald announce that at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Dec. 19th police responded to 16th Avenue in the City of Paterson in response to a report of a shooting.

Upon their arrival officers located 23 year-old Lexander Torres, from Paterson, lying on the sidewalk near East 18th Street with apparent gunshot wounds. Upon the arrival of medical personnel, Torres was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A second victim, Eric Polanco, 24, of Paterson, was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson where he was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was later released.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
