Authorities in Jersey City are investigating a shooting that left a man injured in Jersey City during the overnight hours.
According to preliminary reports, gunfire rang out in the 60's block of Rutgers Avenue at approximately 11:10 p.m. sending police to the scene where first arriving officers found a male victim shot to the back and shoulder at that location.
EMS rushed the unidentified victim to Jersey City Medical Center where doctors immediately began treating his injuries according to reports.
Officers taped off the area and collected for evidence to support a motive for the shooting.
The suspect remains at-large.
