Paterson Man Sentenced to 16 Years in Prison

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announces the sentence of Omar Saloukha, 30 years-old, of Paterson.

Officials say Saloukha was found guilty after a jury trial in Passaic County Superior Court before the Honorable Justine Niccollai, J.S.C., on September 11, 2018.

According to authorities, on Dec. 6th , the Honorable Justine Niccollai, J.S.C., sentenced the defendant, Omar Saloukha to a total of sixteen years in New Jersey State Prison. He received an eight year New Jersey State Prison term for second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Minor by distributing explicit images of a minor.

That sentence will run consecutively to an eight year prison term with a year parole disqualifier for second degree Endangering the Welfare of a Minor by knowingly storing or maintaining explicit images of minors utilizing a file sharing program.

The Passaic County Sheriff’s Office Internet Crimes against Children Taskforce, conducted the investigation into Saloukha. During the investigation it was determined that Saloukha was in possession of over 2,600 videos and explicit images of minors and had utilized different file sharing programs to obtain and share the explicit images.
