A shots fired investigation is underway in Newark's South Ward as police attempt to determine the motive behind a shooting that left property damaged in Newark's South Ward on Saturday night.
The incident happened at approximately 1:30 a.m. in the vicinity of Lehigh Avenue and Osborne Terrace where officers responded to shots fired at that location.
First arriving officers found a crowd of juveniles dispersing after attending some type of celebration and requested a Curfew Unit to the scene.
After a search for the area, police found evidence that a shooting occurred and at least two vehicles with bullet holes inside them according to reports. Officers canvassing the scene also located several shell casings.
There were no injuries immediately reported.
