Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Sea Isle City Police Chief Thomas McQuillen have released the identity of the 89-year-old woman killed in yesterday’s multi-alarm fire.
Officials say firefighters responded to 29 54th Street in Sea Isle City, for a report of a fast-moving fire that caused damage to several properties. The fire suppression efforts were completed and the fire was extinguished.
Prosecutor Sutherland sadly stated two individuals, Elizabeth Coleman, 56, and Roy Lombardo, 60, were transported to the Cape Regional Medical Center to be treated for their injuries. Lombardo has since been released, but Coleman was transferred to Cooper Medical Center where she is still being treated.
Unfortunately, firefighters found the body of 89-year-old Marie Zielinski in her apartment. The victim was positively identified by the Southern Regional Medical Examiners Office who will be conducting an autopsy police said.
