Police have confirmed that a male who suffered gunshot wounds on a Newark South Ward street on Monday evening remains in critical condition.
According to a statement released by Newark Police officials, the incident happened at approximately 8:15 p.m. where police responded to a call of shots fired at Chancellor Avenue and Schley Street.
Police officials say a male victim arrived at Beth Israel Hospital for treatment of gunshot injuries and is reportedly in critical condition.
There were no other injuries reported and the shooting remains under investigation police said.
