There were non-life threatening injuries reported for occupants of a vehicle that crashed then overturned in Newark on Friday evening.
Emergency responders rushed to the intersection of Grafton Avenue and McCarter Highway at approximately 5:10 p.m. where they arrived to find a vehicle overturned with occupants out of the car.
According to preliminary reports, an off-duty EMT assisted one person out of the vehicle through the sunroof shortly before rescue crews arrived at the scene.
Police closed off all lanes of the roadway when they noticed a second crash that occurred a short distance away in the northbound lanes.
The cause of both crashes remain under investigation.
