Authorities in Newark are investigating a domestic violence incident that had a woman suffer a facial injury after being attacked overnight night in a city home.
According to preliminary reports, police were called to in an address in the 600 block of South 20th Street after they received reports of an assault in progress.
Units arrived at the scene requested EMS after they found a female suffering a non-life threatening cut on the face at that location.
Investigating officers determined that the woman was subject to an attack during a domestic incident where the suspect reportedly used a blunt force object to strike the victim.
The incident remains under investigation.
