Firefighters in Nutley battled a raging fire that tore through a house in the city early Friday morning.
According to preliminary information released by officials, the two-alarm blaze happened in the teen block of Glendale Street just before 3:30 a.m. where firefighters received reports of a blaze that ignited a large home at that location.
Crews arrived at the scene and observed flames coming from windows of the wood-framed home.
Firefighters made their way inside the structure where a preliminary search for trapped an injured occupants was conducted and came back negative according to initial reports.
As of 4:40 a.m., crews were making good progress in beating down flames, but officials did not declare the fire under control.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
