Three passengers of a car were rushed to the hospital after they were struck by a fleeing vehicle in Newark Sunday evening.
According to authorities, at approximately 6 p.m., police observed a vehicle disregard a traffic signal at Martin Luther King Blvd. and Spruce Street.
Officials say officers attempted a motor vehicle stop but the vehicle ignored officers’ commands and struck another vehicle at Prince Street and Spruce Street.
According to authorities, two males fled the vehicle, a black 2014 BMW 328i, leaving three victims of the second vehicle injured.
Police say the victims were transported to University Hospital where they are in stable condition.
The incident remains under investigation.
