NJ State Police officials are investigating a pedestrian strike that left one person dead on a highway in Bergen County on Monday morning.
The incident happened in the southbound lanes of I-95 in Ridgefield Park where police were called to the scene after they received reports of an injured person on the highway at around 3 a.m.
State Troopers arrived at the scene and found the severely injured person lying n the roadway according to preliminary reports.
The unconscious and unresponsive person was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police closed the left lane as they investigate what caused the incident.
