Police officials in Newark are reporting that 95 percent of electrical power has been restored to the downtown area.
According to a statement released by Newark Public Safety Anthony Ambrose, Center Street from Route 21 to Broad Street is closed due to repairs.
"For tomorrow morning’s rush hour, drivers are urged to leave early to allow more time during their commute and to plan alternative routes due to anticipated delays" according to Director Ambrose.
PSEG are attempting to determine what caused the fire in several utility holes.
