Elizabeth emergency responders rushed to the scene of an early morning crash that injured at least one person at a location in the city.
According to fire officials, at approximately 3:30 a.m. several 911 calls reporting a crash with injuries and possible trapped occupants had crews at the intersection of Spring and Bond streets.
Officials say emergency crews arrived at the scene and observed occupants trapped and needed to be extricated from the vehicle.
Firefighter officials said companies also had to contend with downed power lines which only complicated the already difficult situation.
Crews were able to extricate occupants then hand them over to EMS for the transport to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
