Police in Elmwood Park are investigating a pedestrian strike that left a male dead in Elmwood Park on Friday night.
It happened near the Walgreen located in the 100 block of Broadway at around 10 p.m. where witnesses called 911 after seeing a severely injured man lying on the ground according to preliminary reports.
Police and EMS arrived at the scene and found the unidentified, unconscious and unresponsive victim at the location.
Medical staff pronounced the man dead at the scene according to police.
Police closed a portion of the area off for the accident investigation. There were no other injuries reported.
