Police in Jersey City has beefed up enforcement in specific areas of the city where they have had instances of shots fired resulting in nearly 200 weapons recovered to date according to a statement released by city Spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione.
Spokeswoman Wallace-Scalcione said on October 5th at approximately 3:40 p.m., police officers noticed three males acting suspiciously on Clark Street.
After further investigation, two of the males ignored the officers' commands to stop, then fled on foot down Arlington Avenue Wallace-Scalcione said.
Police gave chase, quickly apprehending two actors on Clerk Street where they confiscated two firearms.
Authorities charged **Tyronne Stone, 19,** and a 15-year-old juvenile with the following Unlawful Possession of a Weapon/Handgun, Prohibited Weapons & Devices "Dum-Dum/Body Armor," Obstruct Law/Government function, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Firearms by Minor Charge.
Wallace-Scalcione said in a separate incident, on October 7th at approximately 11:53 p.m., police officers responded to Christ Hospital for a male who was transported by private vehicle suffering gunshot wounds.
The 40-year-old victim remains in stable condition and the investigation is ongoing.
