An early morning carjacking of a taxi cab driver in Elizabeth is under investigation by police.
The incident was reported in the 200 block of Elizabeth Avenue just before 4 a.m. where police responded to reports of a carjacking in progress at that location.
The driver told units arriving at the scene that a male suspect produced a weapon and took the taxi according to reports.
The suspect sped the scene on Elizabeth and there were no physical injuries reported.
The incident remains under investigation.
