Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with a bank robbery that occurred on Friday, September 28th.
Police say at approximately 10:38 a.m., man walked into The Investors Bank, located at 181 Ferry Street and handed the teller a note.
Police say the suspect left the bank after the female teller handed him several thousand dollars in cash. He fled on a bicycle heading east on Ferry Street.
The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male in his late forties or early fifties, approximately 5’5” tall. He was wearing a green jacket, a maroon shirt, blue jeans and an Army fatigue baseball cap.
While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly locating and removing him from Newark’s streets.
The investigation is continuing.
