Montclair, Newark, Piscataway Residents Arrested During Traffic Stop in Long Hill

A reported traffic stop that occurred on a Long Hill New Street street landed four men in jail for drug charges on Sunday, September 30th.

According to information released to the public by officials, police say they observed and stopped a vehicle at approximately 11:08 p.m. for failure to signal a turn on Valley Road in Stirling.

Police say after further investigation, officers arrested the four occupants for possession of marijuana at the conclusion of their investigation.

According to police, the driver, Mr. Victor Colter Jr., 31 years of age from Montclair, was issued summonses for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, failure to provide proof of motor vehicle insurance and failure to signal a turn.

Police say, Mr. Fanique Harrison, 32, of Newark, was issued summonses for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Officers issued Mr. Daesjon Brooks-Edmonds, 23, of Piscataway, a summons for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and Mr. Stefon Camacho, 23, Piscataway, for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to make proper disposition of a controlled dangerous substance to a law enforcement officer.

According to the police statement, all four occupants were released on their own recognizance with pending court dates in Long Hill Township Municipal Court.

The charges lodged against the men are mere accusations. They are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
