Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Clifton Police Chief Mark Centurione announce that at approximately 12:06 a.m., on Sunday police responded to Route 3 Westbound in the area of Main Avenue, in the City of Clifton in response to a pedestrian being struck by a motor vehicle.
Police say a Toyota Matrix, being operated by a fifty-seven (57) year old Sparta resident was involved in a collision with a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased a short time later. The driver of the Toyota suffered no injuries and remained on scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
