Authorities announced today that Shawn Randolph, 45, of Blackwood, was charged with killing his older brother, Mark Randolph, with whom he had been living.
Officials say, Saturday afternoon, officers responded to a call of an unconscious male at the Hilltop Court Apartment complex on the Black Horse Pike. The victim, Mark Randolph, was found deceased inside of his apartment with signs of blunt trauma to his face and neck. During the investigation, detectives learned that Shawn Randolph had allegedly been inside of the victim’s apartment early Saturday.
Following an investigation into the homicide, police subsequently charged Shawn Randolph with first degree Murder on Sept. 16th, according to Camden County Prosecutor Mary Eva Colalillo and Gloucester Township Police Chief Harry Earle.
According to authorities, Shawn Randolph was arrested yesterday at approximately 12:04 p.m. by the Philadelphia Police Department on the 800 block of Porter Street in South Philadelphia without incident. He was transported to the Philadelphia Police department and is awaiting extradition to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending a pretrial detention hearing. Under Criminal Justice Reform rules, the court may order he be detained or released with conditions.
All persons charged with criminal offenses are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
