A high-speed pursuit for two suspects who were wanted for firing shots at police officers in Newark ended with a crash in Bloomfield early this morning.
According to preliminary reports, suspects opened fire on police at around 4:15 a.m. near Rt. 1&9 then sped away in a vehicle.
Police chased the suspects into several municipalities before entering the parkway's northbound entrance towards Bloomfield where the suspects sped up to exit 150 where the came to a crashing halt on Hoover and Cook Avenue at around 4:27 a.m. according to police.
Several suspects bailed from the vehicle and hid in the area where one suspect was captured as of 5:01 a.m.
At least three other male suspects remain at large according to reports.
Glen Ridge, Bloomfield and The NJ State Police assisted in the investigation.
