Police in Newark conducted a shots fired investigation in a downtown Newark neighborhood overnight.
Early morning gunfire erupted in the 40's block of Chestnut Street just before 3 a.m. sending police to the scene where officers canvased the area and found two shell casings, but a further search of the neighborhood indicated no victims.
According to preliminary reports, a white Honda was observed speeding away from the scene occupied by male suspects who are believed to have fired off the rounds.
It is unclear who the suspects were shooting at according to reports.
The suspects remain at-large, and the investigation remains active.
