Police in Newark are on the search for the driver of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian on a Newark upper West Ward street then drove away from the scene on Thursday.
Emergency responders rushed the to 40's block of Marion Place -near the intersection of Vail- at approximately noon after residents dialled 911 when they observed an injured person lying in the street.
Crews arriving at the scene found the 20-year-old victim suffering a massive head injury and immediately rushed him to an area hospital for treatment.
Police believe that a red Jeep Grand Cherokee with tinted windows struck the victim then sped away from the scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
