Newark authorities are investigating a robbery that left the victim suffering injuries early Wednesday morning.
It happened shortly before 1:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Bloomfield Avenue where police responded to reports of a robbery in progress.
Units arrived at the scene and found the male victim suffering non-life threatening injuries after a suspect approached and demanded personal possession shortly before physically attacking the victim.
The suspect took an unknown amount of proceeds before fleeing the scene on foot.
The investigation remains active.
