EMS transported a woman to an area hospital after emergency responders pulled her from a burning house in Maplewood early this morning -Tuesday-.
Firefighters were called to the address located in the vicinity of 10 Nelson Place at approximately 3:30 a.m. after they received reports of a house fire at that location.
Crews arrived at the scene to find thick smoke pouring from the structure while intense flames shot from the rear windows of the upper floors of a three-story house with trapped occupants reported.
Firefighters were able to knock the blaze down in a short amount of time where crews then entered the residence to find the injured unidentified woman.
Reports say one other person suffered injuries, but the extent of the person's injury was not specified.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
UPDATE: Officials say a woman and her teenage so were rescued and transported to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston with non-life threatening injuries.
