Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Passaic Chief of Police Luis A. Guzman announce the arrest of Ana M. DeIntinis, 47, of Passaic, New Jersey.
Police say Ms. Ana DeIntinis was arrested without incident on September 10, 2018, at approximately 2 p.m., in Totowa, by members the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.
Authorities charged Ms. DeIntinis with one count of third-degree Access and Disclosure, in violation of N.J.S. 2C:20-31a, which prohibits accessing a computer database in excess of authorization and knowingly disclosing personal identifying information.
Police also charged Ms. DeIntinis with a fourth-degree violation of N.J.S. 39:2-3.5, which prohibits obtaining personal information from a motor vehicle record without permissible use.
A third-degree crime carries a maximum sentence of five years in New Jersey State Prison; a fourth-degree crime carries a maximum sentence of eighteen months in New Jersey State Prison.
Police say Ana DeIntinis is employed as a sergeant by the Passaic Police Department and it is alleged that between April 8, 2018, and June 3, 2018, she directed unauthorized searches of limited- access law enforcement databases.
It is further alleged that Ms. DeIntinis obtained the personal identifying information of others during those searches and unlawfully disclosed that information.
The matter was investigated by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Public Integrity Unit and the Passaic Police Internal Affairs Division.
