Police in Linden are investigating a car crash that sent one person to the hospital overnight in the city.
The crash happened at approximately 5:45 a.m. on St. Georges Avenue near Nora Drive where emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a vehicle crashed into two poles with massive damage to the car and both poles split in half according to reports.
The driver of the vehicle managed to safely self-extricate from the vehicle but was transported by EMS to University Hospital in Newark for treatment.
Their injuries were not reported as life-threatening at this time.
According to state transportation officials, the crash closed the right lane to traffic on NJ-27 -St. Georges Avenue-.
