A big break came for one man when he purchased several lottery tickets at a local food mart.
Mr. Shah usually only plays draw games but, when he is feeling lucky, he also plays scratch off games. Because he was feeling lucky on July 15th, Mr. Shah decided to purchase some instant tickets.
Thirteen is his lucky number. So, when he saw 10 as the last two digits on the 14-digit serial number for the next ticket in the Dazzling Diamond Spectacular game, he decided to buy each of that game’s tickets up to the one with the last digits of 13 on the serial code. Mr. Shah began to scratch off the numbers on the ticket with the serial code ending in 13, since he thought that would be a winner.
To his dismay, it was not. He proceeded to scratch off the numbers on the next ticket and, after revealing all of the numbers in the “Diamond Numbers” area, he scratched off the coating over the “Your Lucky Numbers” area and the number 32 appeared. To Mr. Shah’s delight, it matched a 32 in the “Diamond Number” area with a prize worth $2 million. He was amazed – more like shocked - and had to check the ticket a few times just to make sure he was seeing it correctly.
Mr. Shah then called his wife and son and told them the good news that he had won $2 million playing the Lottery. They were amazed and so excited and in shock themselves to think that he had really just won millions of dollars!!
The family plans to go on a nice vacation in the near future, but, for now, they are just ecstatic to have the financial security that this big win provides.
Mr. Shah’s number 13 was not his lucky number on this day, but instead it was 12. Now, he said 12 AND 13 are his lucky numbers.
The lucky ticket was purchased at Pantry 1 Food Mart, 150 Kings Highway, Jefferson St., Mount Royal in Gloucester County.
