A violent overnight stabbing incident that occurred at a location in Jersey City is under investigation.
Police were called to the vicinity of John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Fairview Avenue before 12:50 a.m. after receiving reports of an injured person.
Units arriving at the scene found a male victim suffering a stab wound to the head according to preliminary reports.
EMS transported the victim to Jersey City Medical Center where doctors treated the injury that was not reported as life-threatening.
The motive for the stabbing remains under investigation.
There were no arrests immediately reported.
