NJ State Police officials are investigating a fatal crash on a NJ Highway in Elmwood Park.
The incident was reported in the westbound lanes of I-80 near mile marker 61.8 at approximately 2:40 a.m.
According to preliminary reports, a 27-year-old man was driving west near milepost 61.8 when his vehicle struck the center concrete barrier, veered of the road and slammed into a barrier on the right side of the road.
EMS transported the victim to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson, where he was pronounced dead.
Police closed all westbound lanes temporarily to conduct their investigation.
