Authorities announced the arrest of Donna Carroll, 44, Walter R. Jenkins, 23, Craig T. O’Riley, 35, and Raymond Adames, 54, all of Newark, for separate auto theft incidents.
According to officials, on July 19th, 3rd Precinct officers responded to Oxford Street near Fleming Avenue after the owner of a 2018 Honda realized their vehicle was ransacked during the overnight hours of July 18th into July 19th.
Following an investigation, officers identified Donna Carroll as a suspect in this incident and in the theft of a 2007 Ford F-150 pickup on the 500-block of Ferry Street. On July 31st, officers located and arrested Carroll in the area of Fleming Avenue and Oxford Street. She was ultimately charged with Theft and Burglary.
Officials say on July 23rd, officers responded to East Kinney Street near Orchard Street for a report of a male breaking into a green 2005 Jeep. Arriving officers, spotted a man fitting the description of the suspect on Broad Street. The suspect, Raymond Adames, was immediately arrested and charged with Burglary, Criminal Mischief and Possession of Burglary Tools.
According to authorities, on July 24th, officers responded to Hill Street near Broad Street on a call of a burglary. Upon arrival, police found the driver’s side window of a gray 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee shattered and the vehicle appeared to have been rummaged through.
While canvassing the area, officers observed a man who fit the description of the suspect. Craig T. O’Riley was immediately arrested and charged with Burglary, Criminal Mischief and Possession of Burglary Tools.
Lastly on July 27th, officers responded to Academy Street near Halsey Street after a male suspect entered a victim’s parked silver 2014 BMW and stole the victim’s cell phone and a backpack. Officers located the suspect, Walter R. Jenkins, and charged him with theft.
These charges are merely accusations. Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
