Newark Police officials invite all to the 35th Annual “National Night Out Against Crime,” 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday,
August 7th, 2018, at West Side Park, South 13th Street and 18th Avenue in Newark.
Officials say the event will include free food, music, bouncy rides, a dunk tank, a rock climbing wall, T-shirts, a classic car show, Batman, Sparky the Fire Dog and other fun and informative activities for both children and adults.
The Police Division will display its Emergency Services Unit and equipment, police horses, motorcycles, police boat, bomb truck, Segway device and command post vehicle. The Fire Division will display its command vehicle, a HAZMAT vehicle, and its historical vintage fire engine.
“National Night Out” is a unique crime and a drug prevention awareness event endorsed by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW).
It is designed to generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, to strengthen neighborhood spirit and to foster police-community partnerships" officials said.
