A male was flown to the hospital Thursday after a trench collapsed while he was working.
According to authorities, at approximately 10 this morning, police responded to LaMonte School Annex for a report of a trench collapse.
Upon arrival, police found out that while the victim was working in a trench on the property, one of the walls gave out, trapping him up to his waist in dirt and rock.
Officials say with the assistance of several area fire departments, the Bound Brook Rescue Squad, Bound Brook OEM, Bridgewater PD, Somerset County Sheriffs Dept and many others, the individual was safely removed.
According to police, the victim was flown to an area hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The investigation into the incident remains active.
