Monmouth County authorities are investigating a high-speed police pursuit that resulted in a crash with the suspect being apprehended overnight in Long Branch.
According to preliminary reports, police began to follow a vehicle that refused to stop for traffic violations in the vicinity of South Broadway and Long Branch at approximately 11:30 p.m.
The driver of the vehicle reportedly sped away from the scene and led police on a pursuit through the streets of Eatontown, Middletown, Tinton Falls, and West Long Branch before coming to a crashing halt in the vicinity of Cedar and Second avenues in Long Branch just before midnight.
Police immediately took the driver of the car into custody following the crash.
The suspect reportedly rammed at least one police cruiser during the incident.
There were no injuries reported.
