Officials announced that Vyron Johnson, 31, of Camden was sentenced on June 28th to 20 years in New Jersey State Prison for the murder of Patrick Lowe.
According to authorities, on June 11th, Vyron Johnson pled guilty to Aggravated Manslaughter for shooting and killing Patrick Lowe and Aggravated Assault for injuring another Camden man who was 32 at the time.
During the investigation, witnesses told detectives that Vyron Johnson and the surviving male victim had an argument earlier in the night, and that Johnson left the area and returned approximately a half hour later in a light-colored minivan, which was corroborated by surveillance footage. Johnson then got out of the vehicle headed toward the 1200 block of Whitman Avenue and opened fire on the surviving victim, striking him and Patrick Lowe.
When officers arrived, they located both men suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. They were rushed to Cooper University Hospital where Patrick Lowe succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Camden County Metro Police Department and the U.S. Marshall’s Task Force arrested Vyron Johnson on August 6, 2016. He was sentenced by the Honorable Kathleen Delaney of the New Jersey Superior Court.
Officials say he will have to serve at least 17 years of the 20-year sentence before he is eligible for parole.
The sentence must also be served concurrently with 8.5 years of the 10-year sentence for the Aggravated Assault charge.
