A Passaic man was taken into custody after police say they found several items including a $25,000 Panerai wristwatch.
According to authorities, on June 26th, at approximately 6:10 p.m. Det. Richmond, Off. Canestrino along with the assistance of Det. Robert Torres, Det. Atli Sela, Det. John Tolerico and Corporal Martin Sanabria of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Michael Rodriguez at his residence in Passaic.
Officials say a search of the residence yielded several items which included jewelry and a $25,000 Panerai wristwatch which were proceeds taken during several of the burglaries. Also during the search approximately three ounces of suspected marijuana along with packaging materials for distribution, a digital scale and $707.00 in U.S. Currency were located.
Authorities charged Rodriguez with Burglary, Theft, Possession of Burglary Tools, Criminal Mischief, Receiving Stolen Property, Possession of Marijuana, Possession with the Intent to Distriubute, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Use of a Minor to commit a criminal offense.
Officials say Rodriguez was committed to the Passaic County Jail where he will be detained pending a CJP Hearing.
Sheriff Richard Berdnik issued the following statement:
“This successful investigation stopped a two-person crime spree in it’s tracks. The fact that this investigation yielded two arrests and will prevent countless other criminal activity is significant. I want to commend both the Prospect Park and PCSO Detectives involved in solving these crimes, said “Passaic County Sheriff Richard H.
“I want to commend all the officers involved in this investigation on a job well done where they utilized good old fashion police work displaying great investigative skills which led to the apprehension of multiple suspects and ultimately ended a multi jurisdiction burglary spree”, Chief Atie said.
