Police in Newark are taking the lead on a shot fired investigation that occurred on the border of Irvington on Tuesday afternoon.
Reports of shots fired sent police to the 100 block of Vermont Avenue at approximately 2:10 p.m. where police officials say they found evidence that a shooting occurred but they did not find an injured person at that location.
Police closed off the area as they searched the street that straddles the Irvington border for shell casings and other evidence to assist in finding a motive for the shooting.
The suspect remains at-large.
