Emergency responders are on the scene of a pedestrian strike on a street in Jersey City at this time.
It happened at approximately 6 p.m. in the vicinity of 1 Linden Avenue East where police were notified of a pedestrian down at that location.
Upon arrival, police requested EMS on the rush when they found the unidentified victim suffering severe injuries after a vehicle struck them then sped away from the scene.
Police believe that a Dodge Durango occupied by a black male struck the victim according to reports.
The Hudson County fatal accident investigation team has been notified to assist in the investigation.
The driver remains at-large.
