Police in newark took two suspects in custody and charged them with assault after a physical confrontation erupted outside bar in Newark's Ironbound section on Sunday.
Officers responded to reports of a physical altercation that occurred in the 40's block of Prospect Street at approximately 7:30 p.m.
First arriving units arrived at the scene requested EMS after locating a male victim suffering non-life threatening injuries after reportedly being jumped by two suspects.
Police are looking into what prompted the attack that lasted just a few minutes where witnesses believe the incident began after a woman was touched inappropriately by one of the men.
The incident remains under investigation by the Newark Police Department.
