There is a significant emergency responder presence on the NJ Turnpike near the Goethals Bridge as crews assist several occupants who were onboard a school bus that crashed then overturned.
There are no severe injuries reported when the large school bus overturned just before 4:15 p.m.
According to officials, about 40 students were onboard the bus with less than a dozen suffering non-life-threatening injuries. All of the passenger's self-extricated officials say.
The crash is causing massive delays on the highway.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
UPDATE: (5:47pm) The students aboard the bus have been identified as students of Yeshiva Mevakshei Hashem of the Borough Park section of Brooklyn.
