Police in Newark are on the search for a suspect who is wanted for an attempted robbery of a business early Friday morning.
According to a preliminary statement released by police, at approximately 4:48 a.m., the suspect arrived at the business, located in the 200 block of Central Avenue, where he brandished a gun and announced a robbery.
Police say the employee managed to escape causing the suspect to run from the business.
According to police, the suspect is described as 5’7” tall with a thin build.
Police say the suspect wore a dark hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and was armed with a black handgun.
While police are actively searching for this suspect, they seek the public’s assistance in quickly identifying and removing him from Newark streets.
